Zoom Math Tutoring with Mr. Dee
Do you know a middle school youth who needs a booster of math instruction each week? You could choose to hire a tutor who could focus their attention on the student, typically for an hour. But for less time and money, Mr. Dee could provide a student with forty minutes of math instruction in a small group setting (online) - and, most importantly, ten minutes of class time would be devoted to each student, one at a time. If that situation interests you, please read on for more information about Zoom Math Tutoring offered by Mr. Dee (AKA Frank D'Aprile).
One afternoon a week, Mr. Dee will tutor four students (of the same ability) in live streamed Zoom sessions that will last 40 minutes (about 10 minutes per student). Students will select a developmental level of instruction, and Mr. Dee will prepare and deliver instruction addressing one or both of the two questions each student emailed to him the day before. Since the sessions will be grouped by math level, each student will benefit from watching the other three lessons, a total of about forty minutes of extra class time.
1. Students should submit two homework or sample problems by 7:00 PM on Tuesday. At least one of those questions (or concepts) will be taught the next day.
2. Students must logon to the session before the starting time, and classes must end on time (or very close) as other sessions will be scheduled almost back to back.
3. Students are encouraged to use graph paper notebooks, sharp pencils, and good erasers. Mr. Dee will model visual organization as he converses with each student.
Development levels are not necessarily an exact match with a student's age. Please pick a level that lines up with the student's current abilities.
